Welcome to the first Ludlow Castle Tennis Club Junior/Adult League! πΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎ
This page is where you can view all results and league tables.
You can view the leagues (categorised by ball colour) in the column to the left (Yellow, Green, Orange, Red) or selecting 'DRAWS' tab above.
In each league box, click the 'DRAWS' button to view the league table. On the Draws page, you can view individual match scores under the 'MATCHES' tab.
IMPORTANT:
The league is intended to be FUN! Teams can be as competitive as they want, but there is no pressure! The goal is to get juniors and their families on court and enjoy playing together!
DATES:
League Matchday 1 - Sun 9 Mar, 1-5pm
League Matchday 2 - Sun 6 Apr, 1-5pm
Additional matches to be played by Sun 31 Aug.
We will try and get through as many matches as we can on the match days, so please be patient. It won't be possible to complete every match (for example, the yellow ball league has 12 teams!)
After the match days above, teams will need to arrange their matches between themselves. Due to the size of the league, we have extended the deadline to play all matches to 31 Aug 2025.
SCORING - (UPDATED):
Due to the high number of teams entered, we have had to amend the scoring system slightly, to optimise court time.
All matches for Yellow and Green ball leagues will now be FAST 4 format.
First to two sets of four games. Set tie break to 7 (clear by 2 points) if games are 3-3. Match tie break to 10 (clear by 2 points) if sets are 1-1. No advantage scoring.
Red and Orange ball leagues can be either played as FAST 4, or as a 10 point tie-break.
A team will receive 1 point for completing a match, and an additional point for a win. 0 points for a team failing to complete a match (default/retire), or failure to arrange the match before the league closes.
If teams are tied on points after playing all matches, sets and games won will be used to determine placings.
YELLOW BALL LEAGUE:
Because of the large number of teams, this league consists of two groups. Once all matches are played, the top two from each group will progress to the second phase. The format of the second phase will be decided once we have a better idea of how many weeks the group stages will take!
